Jean-Michel Basquiat

Today I was blessed to witness, a great documentary called Jean-Michel Basquiat: Radient Child. I never knew much about the man, only that he created some of the great masterpieces in art history. well today I got a chance to witness brillance, and I left with a new found appredciation, and inspiriation. It was as if I saw myself in him I saw what I could be and the things I could be exposed to.

I learned that back in the early 80's fame was the thing, that liberated, artitis wanted and now it's something that you might not even want thrust upon you. To me I want fame but not at the cost of my soul, or artistic integrety. Jean opened my eyes the same way Malcolm X did as well as Marcus Garvey, Jim Carroll, and etc... I now know what I need to do. The film shed light on the humble beginnings of a seventeen year old kid that was homless and went by the name SAMO(same old shit). And by his twenties became an instant millionare as well as a icon but it also shows the disappointments, the depression and his infectious smile today I was internally woken up by the life of this man and for that I'll never sleep thank you.
